Farmington Feed in 5: Week of January, 13, 2025
Hey, Farmington. It's Caryn here, bringing you the latest with the Feed in 5. Farmington needs firefighters, and this year's recruitment starts today. The application is now open at FarmingtonMN.gov/Jobs. Fire Chief Matt Price encourages all interested candidates to attend an upcoming recruitment informational meeting.
Caryn:They are scheduled on the following dates and times, Monday, February 17th, starting at 7 PM at fire station 1, Tuesday, March 4th, starting at 8:30 AM at fire station 2, Monday, March 10th, starting at 7 PM at fire station 2, and Monday, March 17th, starting at 7 PM at fire station 2. For more information on the process, visit FarmingtonMN.gov/BecomeaFirefighter. Explore the outdoors at Daisy Knoll Park or Jim Bell Park and Preserve while snowshoeing. An adult and child class and a child only class will be offered at each park to provide more opportunities to explore different landscapes. Dates are as follows.
Caryn:Saturday, January 18th from 10 to 11:30 AM, Monday, January 20th from 10 to 11:30 AM, Saturday, February 15th from 9:30 to 11 AM, or Sunday, February 23rd from 1:30 to 3 PM. Be sure to dress for the weather as we will spend the entire program outside. Snow shoes will be provided. They were purchased through the no child left inside grant from the State of Minnesota DNR. Cost is 35 per adult child pair or $25 for the child only.
Caryn:Register at Webtrac.FarmingtonMN.gov. Join us for a wonderful winter experience at the Farmington Parks and Recreation's annual S'mores and More event. It's scheduled for Sunday, January 19th, from 2 to 4 PM at Rambling River Park warming house. We'll have skating games, music, s'mores, hot cocoa, and more. Don't forget to bring your skates.
Caryn:This is a free event. Learn how to golf with PGA golf instructor, Collin Anderson, at Mulligan's Golf Simulators. These one day lessons will be held at Mulligan's new location in Eagan. Dates for the lessons are Monday, January 27th, Friday, February 14th, and Friday, March 7th. They are all from 9 to 11 AM.
Caryn:Cost is only $60 per player per date. The lessons are an opportunity for juniors to learn the fundamentals of golf, including grip, stance, chipping, putting, full swing irons, and full swing woods. There will also be an opportunity to play simulator golf courses and other fun simulator golf games. It's open to all juniors of all skill sets ages 6 to 16, and it is encouraged to have friends sign up to join the lessons too. Register at Webtrac.FarmingtonMN.gov.
