Farmington Feed in 5: Week of August 5, 2024
Hey, Farmington. It's Caryn here, bringing you the latest with the Feed in 5. We're excited for the annual national night out event happening tomorrow, Tuesday, August 6th. This is a great opportunity for police and fire department members to visit neighborhood celebrations and engage with the community. Want a visit from the police or fire department? Just request one through the link available on our website or the police department Facebook page. During your celebration, help us support the Farmington food shelf. Let's see how many pounds of donations we can gather. Check out the Farmington food shelf's most needed food, personal care, and cleaning items and bring what you can to your NNO celebration. We look forward to celebrating with you and making a difference in our community.
Caryn:The Farmington Police Department is inviting the community to an exciting career transition Q and A event, Thursday, August 15th at 7 PM at the police station. The informational session will provide a unique opportunity for potential recruits to learn about a new program being considered by the department. This potential program offers a pathway to becoming a licensed police officer with all associated costs covered. If implemented, the program will pay for tuition, equipment, and uniforms while students attend either Hennepin Technical College or Alexandria Technical College to receive the necessary education and training. Attendees will have the chance to engage with current police officers, tour the department's facilities, and get detailed information about the proposed program.
